Alexis Laubenthal: We got to Hen House about 8 o’clock on a Saturday morning. We were seated right away at the bar. The waiter was phenomenal. We got our coffees quick and he recommended both the roll and eggs benedict that we ended up choosing! The role was phenomenal, definitely could be a full meal for someone, but we ended up sharing this and pictured is a half order of the eggs benedict; definitely plenty of food. The eggs Benedict came with hashbrowns that were done perfectly. The eggs benedict was great even had a little kick to it. Overall, fantastic experience we will definitely be back!

Noel Stroner: This brunch spot is adorable and has excellent food and drinks. The service wasn’t great - no one explained to us the self serve area vs full service area when we walked in, just stared at us. Another group walked in behind us and the staff then proceeded to explain everything quite kindly to them. The staff member that took our order at the counter acted quite annoyed and barely spoke to us.

Mary McGee: and I rarely eat at restaurants because of it. I was so impressed with their willingness to help me find a meal I could eat! The manager himself stopped by to make sure they had the list of allergies correct before they placed the order. It was one of the best salads I've ever had! Aaron Forbes: First time in a long time have had such spot on food. Their 60/40 burger can only be described as divine. Not a lover of Swiss and Mushroom Burgers but this may just have converted me.Glen was an excellent waiter, spot on with recommendations and went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. Bartender makes some mean margaritas also which rounded out the experience nicely.

We have been here quite a few times, and the food, service, and atmosphere are always top-notch. The first time, we didn't realize the happy hour menu was only for the bar and patio ... it would be nice if it was restaurant-wide. Otherwise, the food is incredible. Having a vegetarian in the family, there are quite a few options available at this place! Parking is a breeze at this location, too! We will be back!

Susie Haywood: We love coming here for the amazing food and the great servers. I love the pancakes. Only complaint is that we were uncomfortable due to it being hot and stuffy on warm days. Not sure if they have air conditioning.

The place was packed with every table occupied, but the staff was keeping up.We ordered the meat lover's crepes and New York French Toast.The French toast came piled with fresh blueberries and creamy marscapone cheese. The meat lover's crepes are topped with a honey hollandaise sauce that is other-worldly and MUST be tried.The portions are generous and the coffee is fresh and if you're needing creamer for the coffee it will be delivered with your coffee in a small pitcher.We would definitely visit again as there are so many different dishes to try!Parking: It's likely that you'll need to walk from your parking location.Wheelchair accessibility: It is accessible, but the doors are not automated and maneuvering once inside will take some patience as it is a very small dining area. Though, I feel like the staff would make it work if they are able to.
Rick Duran: Eggy’s will not disappoint, food is full of flavor. We ordered Eggy’s Benedict and it was amazing, and their house potatoes were delicious. Our second plate was the Chilaquiles. And let me say that these Chilaquiles are in my top 3. Our waitress was nice and professional, she assisted us since it was our first time. Took the time to explain the menu and her recommendation. I can’t remember her name but I will say she is a humble and wonderful person. Thank you for the great experience

Mike Boardley: Beautiful, old school, dinner club. The outdoor patio is gorgeous as well. Jax Cafe is a Minneapolis institution. Dinning here harkens back to the days of old where men were men. They wore suits dinner jackets.The food here is quite good as well. My wife got the pork chop and I got the smothered ribeye. Both entrees were delicious and well portioned.On our next visit we plan to try their fish. One reason is you can choose which fish you want from their outdoor stream and pond. You are given a net and can scoop out the one you want.Jax is an excellent place to have a romantic dinner. So if you’re looking for a warm, intimate atmosphere, this is the place. We highly recommend Jax Cafe.

Jordan Hermann: If you've never been? Go. Nothing ever changes. It's a time warp. I'm surprised you can't still smoke at Jax. Classic supper club. Ya get yer shrimp cocktail, yer ceasar salad, and a huge slab of prime rib and wash it all down with a Gibson. All served to you by a waitress that's most likely worked there for 30 years and has an old timey name like "Dolores". Or you can always catch your own trout out of the stream on their garden patio, that's always fun.

Jonathan Robinson: Absolutely phenomenal food and experience. Our server Louis was beyond amazing as he took the time to explain the dishes, cocktails, and so much more. Hat's off!Speaking of dishes, the bison tartare was increibly good, but we were blown away by the flavor of the duck ragu in the Torchietti. We had it made gluten-free to accommodate my wife's dietary needs, and the pasta was still delicious! We didn't stop there, adding an order of the pork chop for me and Alaskan halibut for my wife. The flavor profile on the pork chop dish was insanely big, bold, and wonderful. It was such a contrast to the halibut, which was also wonderful but much more delicate. Both were great. We were stuffed. There was no room for dessert, but since we had let it be known we were out celebrating a special event, we were not to leave without a wonderful little celebration treat. It was much appreciated!Our seating was at the Chef's Counter, and it couldn't have been more perfect. It gave us witness to all the incredible work going on in the kitchen as well as all the dishes that were getting prepped. TheDietary restrictions: My wife is gluten-free, and not only do they accommodate this with some of their dishes they go above and beyond to communicate between the waiter and kitchen about the dietary needs. This shows up starting with bread basket modifications, moves into extra tasting bites supplied to us from the head chef, and follows through to all our entrees and special desserts. Phenomenal staff coordination and cooperation.

Parking can be a little difficult to come by, but usually you can find a meter on Washington Ave. Food is fast and delicious, as well as the beer and cocktails. We like the breakfast options and usually have a hard time deciding since there are so many good choices. Jeff Krueger: always manages to get you in and does it with a smile. Then Troy makes you feel like your his favorite person in the bar. Jarrick meanwhile, is cranking out drinks at the service bar like a machine while carrying on casual conversations all over the bar making it look like nothing. All this and yet you still never have to wait for your next one. Fantastic.

Will DeGraw: THIS HAS BECOME A MINNEAPOLIS STAPLE FOR TOO MANY REASONSI've had difficulty figuring out where to begin this review. I reckon it's likely best to begin as most of us do, with breakfast. I have not ever had a breakfast item off the menu that didn't leave me splendidly satisfied. That said, I've never had a pizza nor chicken sandwich that I didn't love either.One of the biggest reasons why I will keep walking into this restaurant is the customer service. The food could be half as good, and I'd still come just because the staff is hospitable. A secondary reason is that their menu changes throughout the year. I love to see what the leadership and kitchen keep conjuring up!

My friend got the breakfast sandwich and I did have a little bit of food envy. Much larger portion of potatoes and in general more food than was on my plate. Jalen Bell: So when I walked past this place, my first thought was Gordon Ramsey’s famous tv show. Turns out they’re a local business, no affiliation. The burger was absolutely fantastic! Well seasoned, temperature just right, and it had bacon and tangy sauce that was similar to 1000 island. Bonus: They branded the bun with the logo which I thought was cool. Ordered cheesecake for dessert. A bit pricy but well worth the quality of food. I’d def eat here again when I’m in town.

Ryan O'Halloran: Incredible food and super friendly staff. Everyone was checking on my table even if they weren't my usual waiter. The food was incredible and very rich. I had the Marrow Toast which was absolutely awesome and the Duck Confit Stroganoff which was a touch salty but the flavors were incredible otherwise. The drink selections were vast and interesting and overall it was a great experience. I would say the one minor complaint I had is that with so many rich dishes on the menu I wish there was a side salad option.
Cathy A.: Stopped in for lunch after arriving from NYC and what a welcome! The decor is beautiful. We sat in a private area and it felt like a private brunch party. The food was great and the service was even better. Our sever, Nicki, was incredibly helpful and friendly. The Manager, Willie, was beyond hospitable and attentive. He checked in on us throughout our stay to make sure everything was perfect. The cornbread was great and the coffee was better than the big name brands. Will definitely be stopping in again during our stay!
Mandie Langman: We ate here before seeing The Lion King at the Orpheum. It's a nice walking distance from the theater and a nice atmosphere for a dressed up, special night out.Service: Outstanding. Our server, Mario, was spectacular. Attentive and personable. He was also kind enough to give us happy hour prices even though we technically weren't sitting on the happy hour side of the curtain. That meant a lot to us as we didn't see anything on line stating these prices only applied to certain tables and was a factor in our choosing this eatery.Food: Delicious. I appreciated the many gluten free options. I had cornbread and the stuffed mushrooms. The cornbread was amazing! I shared it with my husband but could have easily eaten it all myself. The mushrooms were a bit heavy on the garlic. I would have preferred that flavor to have been a bit more subtle. My husband had the bison burger and enjoyed it. It's spicy but as he described, "a nice level of heat." We had the vanilla bean creme brulee, and it was a wonderfully smooth, flavorful custard.Drinks: Good. I had a glass of Chateau St Michelle Riesling, a wine I choose often so I knew I'd like it. My husband had the Old Fashioned, which was made with Maker's Mark and just isn't his favorite alcohol, but that's not really the restaurant's fault as he did choose to order it.Overall, this is a place we'd visit again the next time we're in the theater district!
Keitha McKinney: This was one of the best experiences I’ve had. We were there for my cousins birthday dinner our serve Nick was great he didn’t miss a beat very professional, friendly and funny. The manager Willie came over to see how it was going. & introduced hisself to see whose birthday it was, he made sure we got a birthday dessert. Informed us about the weekend breakfast for our birthday as well. The food was great, you could cut the steak with a butter knife. The overall experience was great I would definitely recommend this hidden gem. Once again I would like to say thank you to Nick & Willie
Edward Todd: The service was great. Food was good. The restaurant was active and loud, which is great for a lot of occasions, but would have preferred a quieter setting for a family dinner. But, my first priority was location with good food and service a second consideration. All in all, it was very nice.Parking: A Parking ramp was close and convenient. I think it was $7 for the evening.

C T: This is a quaint restaurant with a high-end tasting menu. You start your journey at the concierge booth, which also doubles as hotel check-in. They escort you through large doors and seat you immediately, assuming you made reservations in advance. Our server was very attentive to our needs and explained the pairing for each of the courses we had. The food was definitely a journey for you palate. The caliber of the kitchen is topnotch! The kitchen is open and right next to the dining area, and we didn't hear a peep out of the chefs. That just shows you the quality of professionalism they have. Smooth and running like a well-oiled machine. I would highly recommend celebrating a special occasion with Alma!
Nicole Gislason: We had the most wonderful experience for my sister's 30th birthday dinner. It was a curated menu where the plates just came out in courses. You let the server know what dietary needs you had at the beginning... We started out with some great cocktails and then a wonderful recommended wine. We loved every single part of this meal and experience. Do not miss this!

Michelle Nicholson: , bringing his milk in a small pitcher easy to pour into a sippy cup, and to myself - bringing a mocktail version of my dad’s birthday drinks unprompted as I am expecting.The birthday candle on my father’s gelato and grandson / family time made it a super memorable experience. Christine Hubert: Such a great experience! I made reservations for my husband’s birthday on a Friday night. They sat us immediately and told us they saved us a booth. Then they made us a complimentary birthday drink. The food was delicious and drinks were good. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and will put this on our “restaurants list” for future fine dining options!
