I was very nervous about my strapless dress as I didn’t want to be like so many others who spend most of their wedding day pulling up their dress but that worry immediately stopped once I found Chelsea. They took in my dress to where it was snug and comfortable, shorted it and added additional boning for structure and it was AMAZING. I am so pleased with everything from my experience.

My dress had an open back and open sides, so to take it in we first almost had to completely sew up the beautiful open sides and I was heartbroken. Thankfully Chelsea was able to take my dress in from the back, preserving its original look and still making it fit me despite the salon’s mistake. She was incredibly kind and patient as we adjusted, readjusted, and re-readjusted things to make it fit. It came out beautiful! Would recommend Chelsea to anyone looking for top notch alterations.

I knew that I wanted something fun and colorful, and Chelsea delivered. Not only is she amazingly talented, but she is kind, thoughtful, and was such a pleasure to work with. Her studio is beautiful and inviting and I always left our fittings with a smile on my face.Chelsea took my idea for a colorful floral wedding dress and brought it to life. I came with her with some general pictures and ideas, and I could never have dreamed of such an amazing dress. She also, unexpectedly, brought in a friend to help design my own custom fabric!! We all worked together to create the most beautiful fabric that captured everything that I wanted. In the end, the dress was exquisitely executed and perfectly fitted.My Mom was also very involved in the design process, and eventually asked Chelsea to make her Mother of the Bride outfit. My Mom chose a suit from one of her existing collections, and Chelsea made it in a stunning magenta color. My Mom was in love with her outfit, and I would not be surprised if she gets it made in multiple colors.I wish I could have another wedding just so that I could work with Chelsea to design another dress. To all new brides - run, don't walk, to Modehaus and get yourself a Chelsea-original!!

Tori & Jared Sandlotz: Not only did Chelsea go above and beyond for my wedding dress sleeves + "wings" vision, but she also built from scratch my mom's custom suit. With my desire for a splash of color in my sleeves which I had removed and built paired with my moms desire for an outfit unlike the assumed gender norm for a woman's outfit, we came to Chelsea with an unusual and potentially heavy lift project.My mom would drive over from Wisconsin and I down from the north to Minneapolis to make numerous day excursions together. This added to the special build up to the wedding day. In the end, there is NO ONE else I would have wanted to work with. Folks mentioned they've never seen a dress like mine and were stunned by the sleeves. My favorite part were the wings. A lovely alternative to a veil.Chelsea has the ability to uplevel your outfit, while setting yours apart from anything out there. I will be getting my dress preserved with the sleeves on main display. As for my mom, she has a custom suit she actually feels comfortable in for the rest of her life.We are so pleased and will have these memories forever. Sounds cheesy, but this time and creation all together was something I will cherish for as long as I will remember

Courtney Pelissero: Chelsea did an amazing job altering my wedding gown and creating custom straps to turn my strapless dress into the dress of my dreams. The straps looked like a perfect part of the dress. Chelsea made sure the dress fit perfectly, shortened it without loosing the beautiful scalloped train, and added a really nice bustle. Working with Chelsea was super easy and I would recommend her to anyone for their wedding gown alterations!

Blair Prewitt: a&bé was the first spot I went to try on dresses. I really loved a brand that they carried, but after trying them on, I wasn’t sure anymore.My consultant - Liv - PHENOMENAL. I can’t say enough good things about her. I felt like we were best friends and she hyped me up so much even though internally I was struggling. She ended up pulling a dress that was so different than what I pictured myself in, but once I had it on I knew that was my wedding dress.I left without buying since I still wanted to try on some other styles, but I came back a few weeks later and bought it.I never felt pressured to buy anything and Liv truly treated me like I was just playing dress up with no expectations. I was so happy to buy from them, specially because of Liv!I am giving 4 stars because I do wish they had larger sizes of some of their tighter dresses. I am a 8/10, and it was extremely difficult to picture myself in certain dresses that I loved because they were SO tight. It’s so important to be able to try on things that may not fit exactly right, but still give you an accurate picture of what the right size would look like. Trying on dresses that were extremely tight put me in a super overstimulated space mentally, so I would just love to recommend to the store to carry a larger size of all dresses.Other than that, store was stunning and never felt overcrowded.THANK YOU LIV

Lisa Nicklay: a&be has sooo many dress options. I had often times heard they are more "Boho" if you will, which made me feel they would only have one style of dress but that is not at all the case. They offer plenty of styles and many unique options for all kinds of bridal dresses. They also promise to stay within the budget they give you and won't ever try to do a sales pitch or put you in something you cannot afford. I worked with both Stella and Macy. Both were extremely helpful, kind and fun. They were very easy going, which was a huge priority to me being that the experience can be overwhelming. I did end up buying a dress from here that I absolutely love. Overall, I had an awesome experience and would highly recommend coming here if you are looking to book a wedding dress appointment!

I was referred by my wedding planner, I was looking for a black wedding dress which is extremely hard to come by especially in plus size.I made a consult about a year and a half out from my wedding. When I came back for the drawings after the first consult I was amazed at the not one but three options she had for me! They all were amazing and I finally picked one that really fit what I was looking for. Every appointment was amazing, all the steps were super easy for me as well as scheduling. When I came in for my final fitting, about four days before my wedding, the hem in the front was a bit long and Deborah stayed up all night to fix the hem and was ready for me to try on and take home the next day!I absolutely loved my final look, it was everything and more I had hoped for. I cannot recommend this shop enough! Not only was the customer service great, the price was amazing and right around the budget I wanted. When I got engaged again, I wanted to go another route to try and capture that special feeling in a different way. Deborah helped me craft a dreamy dress out of my mother’s and grandmother’s gowns. This dress blew any dress I could have found at a store out of the water. It took a lot of structural work and she executed flawlessly. Anna Glodowski: Then came the fun! She began to build each piece of my wedding skirts, my top, and my dupatta. Each new visit another part began to come together with the overall vision and by the end I was in tears – tears of joy, of course!What Deborah had created was better than anything I had brought along for inspiration on my very first appointment. She used them as a guide, but she put my spin on it. She had successfully managed to get inside my head and see what I saw through my eyes. I honestly don’t know how she did it, but she did and for that I have no words other than THANK YOU!She also created a beautiful alteration for my mom’s dress. My mom and I had found a dress at Macy’s, but it was in the juniors section. It was a long spaghetti strap and was something a 16 or 17 year old might wear to homecoming or prom. However my mom is in her early 70s and the look was too young and too long. So I brought my mom to see Deborah and the two of them talked about how she wanted it shortened to between her ankle and knee and she wanted a sleeve, something that would flatter her arms, but would also keep her cool during the August wedding. Deborah took that idea and put together a design that not only went above and beyond my mom’s expectations by nailing all of her requests, so the look was right and flattering, but also made my mom FEEL beautiful!My mom is plus-sized, so she is very self-conscious about her mid-sections, arms, and her legs. Deborah helped my mom see herself like I see her. I see my mom’s mid-section as the place where she carried me and my siblings to term – healthy and happy. I see her arms as the first place I want to run to when something good or bad happens. I see her legs as the anchors to our family – they never wavered in any storm. Again, there are no words, but THANK YOU!If you have the chance for Deborah to make your dress or alter it – hands down she is the best in Minneapolis! She doesn’t just make a recreation of a dress

Deborah preserved the original hand beading on the dress while updating it for my fiancee's style. B Wys: Che Bella was the 2nd location I went to when dress shopping. I thought they had a great variety of dresses and overall a very lovely shop. Some of the samples were very worn out and it was hard to visualize how they could look on me even with the clips. But I did ultimately find a gorgeous dress here that blew away the others I was considering. The shop was quiet and intimate - very unlike the first shop I went to which was very loud and crowded. There was plenty of seating for my party and everyone enjoyed the experience!
