Thirsty Whale Bakery: what do users think?

Alex Trembley: I’m not sure what to say about TWB that hasn’t been said in the hundreds of positive reviews before me. If you purchase a cake here, prepare to be blown away by the love and detail added to it. The staff is incredible and they will 100% work with you to support your budget and still produce something amazing. This is a small business worth supporting even in difficult financial times.Parking: Street parking is available and it’s usually pretty chillKid-friendliness: The cakes they produce are meant for everyone, including kids!

Leslie Lorentzen: Thirsty Whale was who we went with for our wedding cake. The tasting box was phenomenal. Only wish is that we could have met with someone about the design of our cake - we did send them photos for inspiration and it turned out really well! We only had a bite of the cake ourselves as we were busy running around, but I heard from others that the flavor and texture were great! A good experience and we loved working with Thirsty Whale!

amy siegel: I was lucky enough to have two cakes from thirsty whale and they executed the vision PERFECTLY on both and were so good about checking in with me and made the payment process super easy! The sponge was delicious and the fudge in the center was incredible! Cant wait to order many more goodies from them in the future and also try their peanut butter buddy cookies!!!

Concert Minneapolis: Always great. As of 2-20-24 i would confirm if they are open. Last i know os they are going thru a transition.Parking: If you can't find a spot on the street, Drive around to the back and they have a big area to park.

Andrew Voight: Probably the best donuts that we have had in the twin cities, hands down. My wife and I were looking for a new shop to try that we’d never been to before, and we saw this place had some pretty good reviews, and they are 100% deserved. The gentleman behind the counter that helped us was genuinely excited to have us in their shop, and about their products. He walked us through every donut they had, and gave us his recommendations. There was also a donut that they were “testing out” that had a pineapple filling that was extraordinary. It was topped with a mango icing and white chocolate flakes. Keep working on that, because that pineapple filling needs to be featured in a donut for sure. I’ll be back on a monthly cadence for the maple bacon donut, because the filling inside of that thing just might possibly be the key to world peace. Great bakery.

Nope Nadda: I had heard about these guys for months at least 6 months. So then I finally was going to swing by and they were closed permanently!! And I don't know how I found out that someone saved the day but as soon as I could I went in there to try them out finally... Turns out I AM a donut guy. I was just waiting for someone to make a key lime pie donut and they did it so diabetes here I come!

Black Walnut Bakery: what do users think?

Will DeGraw: GIVE ME THIS BREAKFAST SANDWICH OVER & OVER AGAIN.Black Walnut is in a seemingly residential area of the southside of Hennepin [Uptown], but gets packed inside. it's a lovely place to sit down, meet friends, and just hang out. i don' think i would recommend it as a place work out of, but it's got a charm to it.would def go back again & again.

Katie Pope: kouign amann, and almond poppy citrus bread. It gets crowded on the weekends but if you can snag a seat inside or on the patio, the atmosphere is really nice. Walk right over to the lake if you’d rather take your food to go!I even ordered my wedding cake from Black Walnut! The Cassis Vanilla Bavarian makes for a perfect cutting cake and is beautiful and delicious.

Evelyn Staats: the bear claw is to die for!!!

Aki's BreadHaus: what do users think?

Drake Friesen: Amazing German bakery!

Sarah Huntley: Always good, always fresh. My kids attend school in NE so a morning snack makes them happy. My sister in law is German and I tried this place first in Osseo. I’m so happy that they are in NE. Everything is good! Trying the Pretzel with cranberry mustard today, rosemary garlic bread and the ever trustworthy cinnamon stick for the kids.

Julie Dustin: My husband was in Germany for 2 years and loves Brötchen. I saw the bakery had them and I went with my sister yesterday and bought a dozen. I surprised him with a traditional German meal like we had when we visited Germany a couple years ago. I had cheese, meat, broetchen and some German wine on the table when he came home. He was so excited! It brought back so many memories of us pulling up to a picnic area and having our lunch enjoying beautiful Germany! Also I found my German family still living there in the small village my Great Grandfather was born in!

Miku Fan USA: , I have never, ever seen Aki's actually OPEN for business!Obviously, they are open most every day, but "day" being the important word here - Aki's has never been open during the late nights when I frequent Fair State. I remember fondly that when Fair State opened, they built a small pass-through window directly into the Aki's bakery area - allowing for direct sales and delicious smells to waft through the brewery! Ah, those were the days, right? In any case, imagine my surprise when I walked by the Aki's on the way to FS to discover that the bakery is now occasionally open until 7 pm! Immediately, ordered myself a beer at FS, followed by a trip over to Aki's for a pretzel. Wonderful, as always. Served with several options for mustards, the store offers breads and brotchen, too. It's "no frills" inside, and very small in size, but happy to get a pretzel to eat with my Fair State beers! They were just closing when I arrived there, so most of their stock of breads were gone. But someday I'll catch them in the morning!

M H: . I'm a weekly customer...Recommended dishes Berliner Roll, Pretzels, Rolls, Warm Pretzel Stick …

Oliver C: I honestly believe that they have the best breads in MN, and really good soup, however, the cashiers that work there are something else…. Especially the one on Tuesdays. I was putting a loaf of bread in the bag in front of her, because she didn’t do it properly, then suddenly she yelled at me to move out of the way for someone who was behind me who was not there a second ago. Because she was so rude, I told her that I would move when I am done. She then asked me aloud if I paid for the bread in a tone that was accusing me ….of not paying…for ….the thing is she is the one who took the money from me only a few minutes ago….at this point it was rather ridiculous, so I said ‘no, I stole it’ to which she could not say anything….I find her rather entertaining really… I will make sure that I will go back for the good bread and a woman from the cave…..for her rudeness….

MyGoogle Player: Great pastries, both savory and sweet options. Fresh pretzels are awesome and some good rye bread options.Recommended dishes Sourdough Wheat, Berliner Roll, Pretzels, Peach Streusel …

Jessica Giese: This bakery is hands down the best in the Twin Cities. Everything from the bread loafs to the desserts is such high quality. The prices are also unbeatable. Thank you Aki for being such an amazing spot for baked goods!

Reilly Miller: this is a bakery for all the people who went to Germany, experienced the bread culture there, and returned to Minneapolis hoping to find bread that tastes, smells, and feels like what they had in Europe.——————This bakery is really special and so is the family that owns it.Dietary restrictions: Vegan folks can leave satisfied

Sarah Austin: Love the bread, but wish they would have updated Google for holiday hours. They're closed through January 3rd.

Sas B: Best ham and cheese croissant I’ve ever tasted. The staff was really nice too ! I tried a few other treats as well and all of them were just as yummy! Will be stopping by again on my next trip to Minneapolis!

Amy Nelson: The moment you step into this place, you smell the fresh delicious Roma of such sweet delight then you taste the delicious chocolate almond croissants, and you’re just in heaven👍

Lexi Schiffman: Took a cooking class with Nomi & couldn’t have had a better time! Highly recommend!

Michael Benjamin: The Banoffee Croissants were delicious! Super friendly staff. Great atmosphere.

ben delarosa: The French Pastry 101 class was gifted to me for Christmas. It was a really fun class and Chef Zoe was a fantastic instructor. Highly suggest this as a date night thing or with a friend.

AH: Best pastries in town.

Beth Kalin: Excellent service and love the delicious GF baked good options!

Elizabeth Leming: Cooking classI took a cooking class. It was a lot of fun, but we cooked in groups, so it was hard to have a turn at everything. I either felt like I was taking over or missing out.The groups were of six for those classes, so if you have that many you can be your own group.

Alex Bowes: Waiting outside in the cold was worth it for the baked goods from Savory. The cinnamon rolls are amazing!

Deborah Bauman: Best bakery in south MinneapolisRecommended dishes Savory Brioche Sandwich …

Haruko Ruggiero: I have no reason to go anywhere else. They have cracked the code for texture, flavor, quality of ingredients, sweetness and saltiness. Their menu curation is always compelling. So glad to have this treasure of a bakery in the community!

Sarah Mendoza-Shelton: I am very picky about my baked goods, and I have now found my favorite bakery in the twin cities! Cinnamon roll texture was just right, fluffy yet substantial, and the sweetness was perfect. I usually scrape off most of the frosting on cinnamon rolls because it's too sweet. Not the case with these babies! Savory scone was flavorful and texture was perfect, light and slightly crummy without being dried out. Pumpkin scone was delicious. Polish roll was a pleasant surprise with perfectly spiced peppery filling. Nom nom nom!

Drake Friesen: Awesome bakery!

Kassira A: Getting 5 stars for the cherry pie alone. Not overly sweet or gelatinous or goopy. Perfect crust. Only other thing I had was the raised glaze donut, which I didn’t love but was still pretty good. But the pie. *chef’s kiss*

Wuryati Morris: Ordered several pies for an office event and they were great! Very reasonably priced. I'll be back.

Marissa Sweet: and also Pacski in several different flavors! On a normal visit, the banana flips are to die for!! It's definitely worth the visit.

Jackie: Delicious chocolate chip scone and super tasty sandwiches ! Beautifully decorated cupcakes available in the freezer case, perfect for a grab and go

A. R.: I'm not vegan yet this place makes the best broccoli cheddar soup I've ever had in my life. The young woman who works here is super nice. There's a cute patio in the back. I wish they were open more days of the week!

Mitchell Wallerstedt: Always delicious. Always delightful.

Casey S: Excellent spot, the staff is amazing as well!

Han Kim: So happy to have another place in NE that does vegan and has GF options. The desserts are amazing and sloppy joes with a cup of soup make my day. Now that it's warm the back patio is open and always playing good music.

Kailee Carlson: . I was recommended to try the chocolate peanut butter bar and man oh man if you like peanut butter and chocolate then you absolutely have to try this. I’m not vegan but it was so good. Definitely want to come back for some iced coffee and one of the sandwiches or soups and other treats!

Nick Yaun: Great tasting muffins

Nikki T.: Stopped in for some treats on my daughter's birthday. They were delicious and the person working threw in a pumpkin loaf for her. Super nice! My daughter said she thought the guy seemed really nice even before he gave her the extra treat. Great service and excellent baked goods!

Pie & Mighty: what do users think?

Rhiannon: I love P&M so much. I've loved every pie flavor I've had here - from the Lemon Angel to the Bluebarb to their perfect pumpkin pie. The owners are incredibly kind people who truly just want to make people smile.

Tiffany O: Pies are good and great little shop. Get there early as they sell out fast of their dandys.

Patrick Doty: You like pie? This place is undeniably one of the best pie producers in the metro. The days of bakers Square being an option is over... I will drive the 30 miles to get these marvelous creations! Love them

Lisa Veenstra: Everything I've had from Pie & Mighty has been amazing - don't sleep on the Hoosier Mama Sweet Cream. I look forward to their email every week to see the new flavors and enter the lottery.ETA: OMG. I had a dandy pie finally - butternut squash, caramelized onions, sage, and cream cheese. I could eat that pretty much every day and be happy.

Walt Cygan: Breathtakingly good pie. Just had my first taste of blackberry pear. Truly outstanding.

Karen Stuhlfeier: and the nicest customer service. It was a pleasure to wait in line. Everyone was so happy to be waiting for the best pie in the Twin Cities - maybe the world.

Dei Doane: Amazing pie, and great people!

Joseph Van Beusekom: Savory pies...yum.......yum....yum.

Ravyn: I lucked out big time and got two of their Apple Cranberry Pecan Crumble pies for Thanksgiving. This was the best pie I have ever had. Like, life changing good. I'm not a huge pie person and these were just heaven.

Erik Laing: Great pies if you happen to get lucky in their lottery. If you don't, they're still great but you're only chance is a slice when they are open for pickup. Always a new pie to try and simply the best signature crust I've found!

Angie R: I'm seriously in love. I'm a huge pie fan and Pie and Mighty has some of the best pie I've ever tasted. It was worth every bite and then some. Definitely get in their pie lottery or stop by for a slice of pie.

Try the Clint-style breakfast sandwich with avocado, garlic mayo, and sprouts on a fresh biscuit — my favorite! Recently recognized as best sandwich of SW Minneapolis. Paige: Parking: I usually park a couple blocks away in the neighborhood to the West; hit or miss parking situation depending on busy times.

Sean Lawrence: What a powerhouse of a bakery/cafe experience. Simple, streamlined menu with only solid hits. The staff were eager to assist, yet not impatient with new customers needing time with the menu. Lots of Madonna on the playlist. The cinnamon bun was huge and delightful. I love the hint of yeast in the bready portion contrasting with the tasteful amount of sweet and spice. The coffee cake deserves some love too, with its fruit and walnut crumble topping

Chris Goggin: The smells of caramel and cinnamon were wafting out the door, into the line as we waited … mouthwatering delicious awaited! We enjoyed our visit - had the walnut, cinnamon buns, and orange/raspberry scone. Plus a coffee. All were very good and a nice start to Sunday.

Michelle Benson: Rebecca's European inspired pastries are addicting and luscious. They are not with sugary frostings or artificial flavors but home whipped cream frostings and real fresh fruit folded into layer cakes. The cannoli's are filled with slightly tart and sweet filling dipped in chocolate. My favorite is the Millefoglie, a flaky puff pastry layered with a rich whipped cream that is indescribable! There are too many creations to list but I guarantee, you WILL not find anyplace like Rebecca's.

Ashley Chmielewski: Delicious donuts. 🍩 Reasonably priced.

Julie Lo: and upon checking the receipt, I noticed I was charged incorrectly. I was charged 20 glazed and 10 frosted donuts. Worked out for me because the glazed was cheaper than the frosted and it basically covered my missing donut anyways . Despite this, the donuts are really good, but the service was disappointing.

jericho hunter: . All I did was ask a simple question, “is this the way into the woods?”, after their prompt, UNHELPFUL response I left. Upon exiting the establishment, an endearing character approached me, “M..milky White, is that you..?” a smile wiped itself across my face, a familiar friend indeed! BUT……. To my absolute dismay, her head was missing! I looked around, completely bewitched… SHWOP! A rock hard object came soaring towards my face. On the floor I dropped covered in blood, “oh providence my milky white!”. With me were three witnesses: Jack, The Baker and none other than the culprit The wife of the Baker!Wheelchair accessibility: I left in a wheelchair.

Jasmine Baranova-Hart: it was a decent experience overall, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was very inviting.minus points for the cow head thrown at me upon arrival though x

How I love to come here!!!* * *Another visit: we ordered the BLT and asked for crispy, well done bacon. They REALLY know how to make it dry and with wonderful texture!! The best in town!!

Miranda: Vanilla latte was beautiful but wasn't sweet enough for my garbage palate. The sourdough pancakes were good and served with real maple syrup. The mushroom biscuits and gravy had an interesting type of mushroom, but the gravy tasted very floury.I would return to try the toast flight, and maybe a biscuit sandwich.

Jim Blackwood: Excellent local bakery! They make pizzas on Thursday nights that are delicious. Excellent breads and croissants and scones and cookies.Parking: Parking lot shared with several other businesses.Kid-friendliness: Welcoming to small children.
